Shelter
Shelter Canada, a non-profit Christian organization, organizes mission trips to El Salvador to build homes for families in need. GoodTree Church is in partnership with Shelter Canada to send a team to focus on providing practical help and sharing the Gospel while by building safe and secure homes for people who have been affected by poverty and natural disasters (Truthfully, most of the work and home building is done by locals, the amazing part of the trip is the building of relationships).
Here are some general details about these missions based on available information:
THE MISSION:
The main purpose is to build houses for families in El Salvador who live in desperate conditions. The homes are simple, typically made of galvanized steel, and provide security and shelter from the elements.
THE PARTNERSHIP:
Shelter Canada works with local Salvadoran staff and community leaders to identify families in need and organize the build process. You can check out more about the organization at www.shelterhelps.com
THE LOCATION:
El Salvador is a warm, vibrant Central American nation known for its breathtaking volcanic landscapes, rich culture, and resilient people. While famous for its Pacific coastline and lush mountain regions, hundreds of thousands of local families still live without safe, reliable shelter.
THE TRIP DATES:
March 27 - April 4, 2027
THE IMPACT:
These missions aim to have a lasting impact on the lives of families by providing them with a secure home. This can lead to improved health, stability, and a better future. The trips also deeply impact the lives of the volunteers who participate in immeasurable ways. The gospel of Jesus us hope for all people in every nation and every economic situation.
