Jesus had a heart-to-heart with Nicodemus, diving into the concept of being "born again" and shining a light on rebirth through belief in Him. Jesus explains that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. This passage captures the essence of Christianity - the precious gift of salvation through belief in Jesus Christ.

Feel free to read John 3:1-21 to familiarize yourself with the passage before the event.

The evening will consist of:

  1. Pizza and story @ 5 for youth who can make it early

  2. Lesson, babysitting overview, and set-up

  3. 6 PM - 9 PM - Kidsitting for registered kids (registration closes May 19)

Jesus' love rises above and beyond even your highest expectations. It floats while everything else sinks. Peter lived his life close to Jesus and close to the water. We will take a look at some of the stories near the water and what it means to remain close to Jesus.

This is the last “Friday Night” youth event for this school year. We will be out by the lake at the Ritchies home in Chestermere. We will meet in Chestermere at 6:30 PM (anyone who needs a ride from the church please let Angela know 403-560-2688, we have limited space so you must RSVP for a ride). The Ritchie’s address will be sent out in the weekly e-mail.

This event is a highlight of the year. It is a trip where the youth gather with youth across western Canada to eat, serve, worship, and learn together.

Early bird registration through April 30 – $290 and goes up at the beginning of May – $350. Don’t let cost be an inhibitor, we will do fundraising and other efforts to support the youth. (When you register note that you are with Crescent Heights Baptist Church Youth Group as we do not have the new church set up yet)

Please note a day may be added to the front and/or end of the trip depending on travel arrangements.

Heart of Stone - An Accused Woman

A woman is accused of adultery and is about to be stoned to death, until Jesus intervenes. We will take a walk down to the river and throw some stones into the water. As we do, we will discuss looking at ourselves before judging others. We will also see how compassionate Christ is and build an inukshuk to remember that he has taught us how to love.

We will meet out front of the church as there is a wedding rehearsal and decorating happening in the church this night (If the weather is awful, we will meet in the Sunday School Room).

The sleepover event will consist of:

  1. No eating! - Don’t eat anything after 4 PM the night of this event (Drinking water or juice is ok - no smoothies or blended hamburgers).

  2. A Spaghetti dinner, fundraiser, and silent auction to raise funds for the youth Serve trip. (Guests can eat, but youth, resist temptation we are going the night without food).

  3. Clean-up from the event.

Jonah was not happy to tell the Ninevites of The Lord’s pending doom, he knew that God was gracious and compassionate, and may forgive them if they turned from their wicked ways. We look at how the story often focuses on the giant fish, but there is more than a splash to this crazy story.

We look at the famous Psalm that David wrote a shepherd himself who referred to God as his Shepherd, trusting The Lord to provide everything he needed.

The night will consist of:

  1. Come hungry, we will start the night off eating Shepherd’s Pie!

  2. Following dinner, the youth will be painting canvas’ in an art battle to depict Psalm 23 to be used for the worship service on Sunday.

    All the supplies are provided, wear clothes that you don’t care if they get paint on.

  3. We won’t have break-out groups this night, as we will read and discuss the story over dinner.

Winter Camp - Gull Lake Centre

Registration is now open!

We are going to go as a youth group. So when you register add Crescent Heights Baptist Church as your cabin mate and we will be put together. Nathan/Tyler/Noelle will be the leaders attending this year.

Registration is $145, but don't let that stop you from coming, register with what you can afford and the camp will bill the church for the remainder.

Everyone Grade 7-12 can register! But you need to register to attend.

There is no youth event at the church on this weekend.

What to Expect

Winter camps are jam-packed with snowy fun. Each day includes chapel time with speaking and music, outdoor activities, indoor games in our gym, and songs around the roaring campfire.

Our outdoor activities can include anything from hockey and skating on the rink, to sledding down on our brand-new toboggan hill and luge track, to something you can only do at camp like human-dog sled racing!

Campers sleep in groups of 6-10 in heated cabins that include a bathroom and shower. They will be served three catered meals per day plus a snack before bedtime.
