There are times when we have low opinions about ourselves. We underestimate our worth and we either withdraw from others or over-exaggerate our qualities so that we appear confident. Some of the challenges we face today are loneliness, low self-esteem, insecurities, peer pressure, unrealistic expectations from our families or culture. We are in need of healing. It is clear that we need to have a healthy image of ourselves. Throughout its pages, the bible constantly afirms that human beings are valuable in God’s sight. We are created in God’s image with intellectual abilities, the capacity to communicate, the freedom to make choices, a knowledge of right and wrong and the responsibility to rule over His creation. The old has gone and the new has come, when we are in Christ Jesus. We are redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ and we are given a new life and hope through the resurrection. We are members of the body of Christ and bearers of the divine image.
